OQHA Youth Scholarship
The Oregon Quarter Horse Youth Scholarship was established to provide opportunities for deserving OQHYA members who wish to further their education in a college, university, or other institute of higher learning.
This scholarship opportunity is available to graduating high school seniors, with the applicant being a current and active OQHYA member. The scholarship is awarded to a well-rounded individual, who ranks in the top 30% of their graduating high school class. Additionally, all extracurricular activities are reviewed and letters of reference are required from teachers, coaches, principles and/or other civic leaders.
OQHA is proud to be able to support our youth with this annual $1,000 scholarship.
Applications for the 2023 Oregon QHYA Scholarship are due April 1, 2024..

Taylinn Dimmit
Taylinn will be attending Lane Community College to complete her prerequisites in hopes to pursue a career in Dental Hygiene.
Jacqueline Potwora
Jacqueline is a rising senior at SMU in Dallas Texas. She is in the Cox School of Business and is on the Dean's Honor Roll. This summer she has an internship with Goldman Sachs in NYC.
She is thankful for her experience with OQHA and the scholarship she was awarded. She misses her horse, Ferris, and hopes to get back in the saddle soon.
